New device library offers Toronto area tech community access to valuable testing resource

We are happy to announce that we are partnering with Lighthouse Labs and DevHub to launch a new Wireless Zone in downtown Toronto on June 1st.

The Wavefront Wireless Zone offers over 1000 hardware devices, which includes the latest smartphones, tablets, sensors, and wearables. The Wavefront Wireless Zone allows the wireless community to test their applications across multiple platforms and networks at a reasonable cost. You can rent each device for $10 per day or $15 per day for a device and unlimited data.

Lighthouse Labs students will have access to all Wireless Zones across Canada and be able to rent hardware devices for free. Locations include: Wavefront (Vancouver), Centennial College (Scarborough), Communitech (Waterloo), Invest Ottawa (Ottawa), Volta Labs (Halifax) and of course Lighthouse Labs and DevHub (Toronto).

The Wireless Zone is a great resource for companies to test their wireless product at an affordable price. Hear what our community has to say:

“We had an unexpected meeting with one of our partners and needed a tablet to display our demo. Luckily, we were able to rent a tablet on a short notice from the Wireless Zone.” – Shanil Gunasekara, Co-Founder & CEO, eTreatMD

“I love the Wireless Zone! We were able to test our application on the latest mobile devices and be able to stay within our budget, which allowed us to invest in other projects. – Joe Facciolo, Co-Founder, Guusto

“Wavefront’s Wireless Zone played a pivotal role in getting our application ready for launch. We were able to test for a seamless user experience and refine our product using cost effective testing services that allowed us to get to market faster” – Hunter Macdonald, CEO and Co-Founder, Tutela

About Lighthouse Labs and DevHub

The idea of Devhub came about through Lighthouse Labs, where we live and breathe code, education and community. Being surrounded by a community of over 500 software developers has taught us that developers learn best when they are surrounded by others who are passionate, driven and intellectually curious. They learn best doing and having the freedom to explore their interests and focus on their skill. They also learn best through community. Devhub was founded to support developers throughout their careers, with the guiding belief that exceptional programmers are lifelong learners, the ones who are always on the lookout for ways to better their craft.
