Senior mHealth Partner, Vodafone xone
Shervin Majd joined Vodafone in 2011 as a senior mHealth partner and is in charge of the incubation and investment of mobile health solutions at Group-R&D. Before joining Vodafone, he held several appointments in the healthcare field relating to the design, development, and validation of a diverse range of solutions including respiratory, cardiovascular and orthopedic devices. Shervin gained this experience working for multinational healthcare companies such as Johnson & Johnson as well as supporting the development of innovative solutions in start-ups. Shervin also analyzed and reviewed life science and healthcare patent applications submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a number of years, where he acquired extensive insight into the evolution of healthcare technologies and the current state-of-the-art mobile health and patient home monitoring technologies. Shervin holds a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and completed his post-doctorate research and training at the University of Maryland.
VP Physician Services, Medeo
Marc has a specialized HBSc in Kinesiology and Health Sci. from York University and has an MSc. from the University of British Columbia with a specialization in health promotion, health knowledge, & health literacy. He brings over a decade of experience in preventative health and interdisciplinary medicine to Medeo. He has been a driving force behind BC’s primary tele-health physical activity counselling service and works with the Ministry of Health’s Healthy Families BC team to help British Columbians adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors. Marc also owns and operates a Vancouver-based health consulting firm, MDF Wellness Inc., and has helped clients like the BC Cancer Society, BC Center for Disease Control, The Provincial Health Services Authority, The Victorian Order of Nurses and the City of Richmond sit less and move more.
A touch of Geek, a dose of Strategy and a whole bunch of Connector, Lynda has been using technology to connect people since Grade 4. Lynda ignited Curatio to build something that mattered – helping people to help each other get better. She has been repeatedly recognized as one of Canada’s digital media leaders, known for her entrepreneurial mind and innovative spirit, and has served many private and public organizations. Lynda started her first business at age 14 and Curatio is her third startup.
