Wavefront, a centre of excellent for wireless commercialization and research, and Communitech, a member of the CDMN national network, say the agreement is anchored by “complementary mandates to accelerate the growth of wireless and technology companies in Ontario and across Canada.”
According to Wavefront, financial support from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program will allow it to immediately offer programs to Communitech network companies, including advisory and mentorship, and mobile app development and testing services. Conversely, Communitech clients will be able to participate in advisory and mentorship programs delivered by Wavefront, including the organization’s Machine-to-Machine Accelerator program.
Wavefront and Communitech will also offer joint events.
“We have a great deal of respect for the important work and tangible impacts that Communitech delivers to technology companies in Ontario,” says James Maynard, CEO of Wavefront. “Our collaboration with Communitech is a natural fit, as we share a similar mandate and can now further extend our wireless commercialization programs to companies in this important region.”
“We welcome the further collaboration with Wavefront and we’re confident that improved access to a comprehensive suite of wireless testing and commercialization services will directly contribute to the growth and economic impact of the technology sector in Ontario and across the country,” says Communitech’s CEO, Iain Klugman.
