Wavefront is pleased to partner with speakers Jesse Heaslip, local developer and HTML5 practitioner, and Thomas Lewis, Technical Evangelist from Microsoft, for an introductory overview into HTML5 and the different APIs and templates you can utilize to kickstart your development.  A local developer case study will be featured along with the opportunity to ask the experts questions on this hot topic!

An overview of what’s new from HTML4 will highlight the improvements that have been made at the structural level to simplify your code and give the web a common language.

Jesse Heaslip

Jesse is a local developer who has worked with startups in New Zealand and Vancouver, was featured in the National Post, has spoken extensively on entrepreneurship and lean development, and currently organizes the HaskellTech Co-Founders and Lean Startup Meetup groups. He was a finalist in Sencha’s Mobile App Development Contest and hislatest project is built using jQuery Mobile. He has been working with HTML5 for the last 18 months. Jesse blogs about startups, community and technology at id8.ca.

Thomas Lewis – Technical Evangelist, Microsoft

Thomas Lewis is a Principal Technical Evangelist at Microsoft focused on HTML5, Windows 8 and the web designer/developer community. When he is not thinking about the brutality of HTML5, Microsoft, and Design, he is plotting the eradication of Internet Explorer 6 from the planet.
