AVP, Automation Innovation, Canadian Tire

Eric Simmons is the AVP of Automotive Innovation at Canadian Tire, where he is responsible for developing the automotive IoT strategy, next generation auto service, and connected car.  In addition, he runs the Canadian Tire Roadside Assistance and Driver’s Academy businesses.

For nearly 95 years, Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) has been providing customers with everything they need for life in Canada. We are a Family of Companies that includes Canadian Tire retail stores, PartSource, Gas+, FGL Sports (Sport Chek, Hockey Experts, Sports Experts, National Sports, Intersport, Pro Hockey Life and Atmosphere), Mark’s, Canadian Tire Financial Services, CT REIT and Canadian Tire Jumpstart, a nationally registered charity dedicated to removing financial barriers so kids across Canada can participate in sports and physical activities.

Prior to joining Canadian Tire, Mr. Simmons was the General Manager, Internet-of-Things (IoT) for Rogers Communications Inc., his responsibilities included product management, product marketing, sales operations, alliance programs, resale channels, and overall go-to-market strategy for IoT and advanced business solutions.  He held senior leadership roles at Dell where he was responsible for overall marketing strategy, thought leadership and corporate and public sector sales for the software & peripherals division for all of Canada and Latin America.  Mr. Simmons also owned Blizzard Courier Services and was VP of sales and Marketing.  Previously he held titles at Compugen and Liberty Technology Services in a sales executive capacity.
