We Are Wavefront is an ongoing series where we take a look at the people who make up Wavefront. This week we sat down with Nikki Arasaki who manages our Accelerator Programs.
What do you do at Wavefront? How long have you been here?
My role is Manager, Accelerator Programs, and I’ve been part of Wavefront since January 2016. In my role, I design and deliver our educational accelerator programs, namely the Venture Acceleration Program and RevUP.
What keeps you busy outside of work?
Most evenings and weekends are either spent exploring the outdoors with my mini Australian Shepherd, Ducky, or at the gym. I recently started lifting weights and I’m hooked!
Fun fact: I played Cha Cha in my high school’s production of Grease, and it sparked a love for ballroom dancing. I even danced competitively for a couple years!
What brought you to Wavefront?
Having had already spent a couple years in the local tech startup scene in Vancouver, I was familiar with Wavefront and how it’s helped so many mobile startups get off the ground and become viable businesses. There was definitely an appeal of being part of so many Canadian startup success stories.
What excites you about the future of Wavefront and tech?
The exciting thing about Wavefront’s accelerator programs is the fluidity. We’re constantly refining our curriculum and delivery methods based on our learnings, participant feedback, and trends in the accelerator landscape. So while the proven key components remain intact, we have the freedom to evolve and redefine ourselves to create better and better offerings. That’s the true definition of a startup mentality and it’s really exciting to me!
We’re now accepting applications for all programs that Nikki’s team puts together. Here’s our programs, deadlines, and links for more information:
