There are many challenges to consider when trying to expand to a new market, and doing it by yourself can be extremely daunting. To ease the transition into international markets Wavefront offers a Global Market Entry Program.
Through our Global Market Entry program, we connect Canadian mobile and IoT companies with support and funding to successfully enter international markets. Every year, Wavefront selects a group of companies to introduce to various markets around globe. Each trip itinerary and destination is focused on a specific subsector of the mobile industry and is customized for a small, select group of companies. During the trips companies have the opportunity to connect with key industry players, attend industry events and get access to on the ground knowledge.
Last month, Wavefront took six companies on a Global Market Entry trip to Washington, DC to connect them to opportunities in the Smart Cities industry. Participating companies included B-CITI, Computronix, DimOnOff, Orange Traffic, SmartCone Technologies, and QMC. During the trip they met with large multinational enterprises, municipalities and other organizations in the smart city ecosystem, including The City of Alexandria, Virginia, IBM and Verizon. They also attended North America’s first major Smart Cities conference & expo, Smart Cities Week.
Since 2009, Wavefront, in partnership with Global Affairs Canada, has taken more than 240 Canadian companies into 35 countries with the Global Market Entry Program.
“Both Wavefront and the Canadian Trade Commissioner worked diligently to ensure we had opportunities for business meetings. They were making introductions, organizing meetings and were constantly on the lookout during the conference for potential new partners or prospects for our technology solution.”
Dean Mallory – Computronix
“Every meeting concluded with next steps toward generating new business opportunities.”
Frank Thiel – SmartCone Technologies
Two of the companies have already generated commercial opportunities with Multinational Enterprise’s and municipal contractors.
Our next trip is to Seattle & Portland, focusing on the Smart Retail industry. Learn more and apply here.
