Vancouver, British Columbia, September 26, 2017. As part of Vancouver Startup Week, 17 organizations are coming together to host a showcase, “Resources for Startups: Meet our Local Accelerators and Incubators”, on September 27 from 3-9 pm at The Vancouver Club.
Thought to be the largest gathering hosted by accelerators and Incubators in Vancouver, this event features:
- Vancouver Tech Startup 101. Understanding the lay of the land of the tech ecosystem. Accelerators, Incubators and other business resources will give quick pitches of their programs and services and why startups should work with them.
- Leaping into Entrepreneurship. Planning today for success tomorrow and thinking about an end-game.
- Fireside Chat with local heroes who have accessed support from multiple organizations in the Vancouver tech sector. What worked and what didn’t.
- Networking reception.
“For anyone who is starting a business or even thinking of it, this showcase provides a unique opportunity to discover what programs and resources are available in Vancouver,” says Nikki Arasaki, Manager, Accelerator Programs at Wavefront. “We love helping founders launch and grow their companies, and we want more people to know about the huge array of resources that are available to entrepreneurs in Vancouver.”
“Vancouver has been identified as the #1 city for startups in Canada, largely because of the robust resources offered by local accelerators and incubators and other support organizations,” says Anastasia Hambali, Growth Program Manager at BC Tech. “When startups succeed, they create a rising tide effect for the broader BC tech ecosystem, which in turn drives economic benefits for the province.”
The accelerators and incubators hosting this event have defined their mission as:
Stronger Together. We, as entrepreneur support organizations, are committed to helping founders grow to their potential, such that the world looks to Vancouver as the model community for nurturing entrepreneurialism. Connect with one of us, and know you will get connected to the right fit among us. What makes us unique, is also what fosters our promise to collaborate, encourage and align to the goal of helping build strong, sustainable and dynamic companies.
