LTE has emerged as the favored technology for future Public Safety communications, largely due to its high bandwidth data pipe which can be flexibly used for voice, video, messaging, and other essential communications.  Based on previous LTE network buildouts in the Americas, Asia, and Europe, creating new LTE networks and devices for existing Band 14 spectrum is not a big challenge.  Creating networks and devices that interoperate with existing P25 networks as well as the myriad of commercial multi-band CDMA, W-CDMA, WiFi, and other networks  is a huge challenge, however, and doing it at an affordable cost adds immensely to this burden.

This webinar will explore:

  • Challenges to be faced in deployment of interoperable LTE Public Safety networks and devices
  • How testing can help expose and resolve issues throughout the life cycle – from development to deployment and operation.
  • A wide range of potential issues will be presented along with a corresponding range of testing solutions to help guarantee operation in all potential deployments.
  •  The webinar will focus on testing early in the life cycle with the aim of decreasing the frequency of expensive fixes in the field.

Tom Sandberg

Business Development Manager, Wireless, Anritsu 

Tom Sandberg has over 20 years’ experience in the design, test, and manufacture of telecommunications equipment, working at companies including Motorola, PrairieComm, Intel, Anite, and currently Anritsu. Mr. Sandberg has held a variety of positions including Marketing, Development and Application Engineering, and Management. In his current position at Anritsu he serves as a Business Development Manager for Anritsu’s wireless test portfolio.

Mr. Sandberg holds a BSEE from the University of Minnesota. He has authored numerous application notes and white papers and is a frequent speaker on the topic of Long Term Evolution (LTE).

Edmond Zauner

Field Application Engineer, RF and Microwave, Anritsu 

Edmond Zauner has 3 decades of experience as an application and sales engineer in the test and measurement as well as computer aided electrical engineering disciplines. Helping major companies such as Rogers, Bell, Ericsson, Blackberry and Altera be successful in RF, Microwave and HS digital designs and measurements. Edmond currently supports all RF and Microwave activities for Anritsu Canada.

Mr. Zauner holds a BSEE and MBA from McGill University in Montreal, where he resides with his family.

Alan Swain
VP, Technologies and Operations, Wavefront

Alan brings over 25 years of intensive technical experience, to this role, having worked with some iconic innovators in the wireless world. Prior to joining Wavefront, Alan was Director of Professional Services at Sierra Wireless where he led a team of project managers and integration, RF and hardware engineers, providing technical assistance, professional services and accredited UE testing services globally to OEMs.
