Wavefront Partners with the Cellular Operators Association of India

Agreement with COAI will accelerate deal flow to world’s 2nd largest wireless market

VANCOUVER, CANADA/ NEW DELHI, INDIA – Wavefront, Canada’s wireless center of excellence for commercialization and research, and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) have signed an agreement that will facilitate and accelerate the flow of wireless business between the two countries.

India has over 601 million active mobile subscribers generating US$38.2 billion in revenues and has the highest subscriber growth rate in the world. It is the world’s second largest wireless market in terms of mobile connections and presents a significant market opportunity for Canadian technology and service providers. The COAI represents India’s major cellular operators, infrastructure and service providers. The two organizations will work together to develop and promote strategic business and partnering opportunities.

The first opportunities out of this partnership will arise when Wavefront introduces ten innovative Canadian wireless solution providers to the Indian carriers on December 6-9th during the India Telecom 2011 conference in New Delhi.
